I began developing solutions to position Mid Valley Maid as a top competitor in their local market. I explored the concept of enabling potential clients to easily request bookings or contact the business directly, aiming to streamline these processes. Given the client's preference for a basic yet appealing website, I focused on essential features that serve both users' needs and the business' goals.
Feature Roadmap
With all the valuable information I gained from the research, I compiled a list of different features that Mid Valley Maid should include on their website to compete in their local market.

Before creating the wireframes for the website, I planned and organized the site's contents using this sitemap.
User Flows
In order to help users achieve their goals, I prioritized key tasks and created user flows that outlined the necessary steps to complete the actions.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
After sketching out frames to gather ideas on the overall layout, I developed low-fidelity wireframes on the computer to demonstrate the design of the business website and tested the design through a quick round of user testing.
Color Selection
Prior to this project, the owner did not have a set of branding guidelines. I only had her logo to work with and her request for a "boho" style, so I did my research to gain a clear understanding of the brand's identity.
The owner preferred colors that included neutrals like tan and black, with a splash of turquoise. I presented her with several color palettes, giving her the opportunity to make the final selection and actively participate in the decision-making process.
High Fidelity Wireframes
Once the style was established, I designed the high-fidelity wireframes outlining how users will navigate the features and content, as well as capturing the intricate details and visual aesthetics of the final website.
It was time to bring the design to life and create prototypes for the three task flows:
01 - Finding Services & Service Details
02 - Find & Review Testimonials
03 - Request a Booking
To determine the success of the design I recruited 6 participants and conducted usability test either in-person or through Maze.
Task 01- 03: No errors and all participants completed the task in under 10 seconds.
Priority Revisions
Based on the feedback from the owner of Mid Valley Maid and the user test participants, I made a few revisions to the website's design.
01
Testimonials: Took out the client picture for added privacy of the clients and filled in the stars for the client ratings.
02
Buttons: Increased text size and weight for better legibility.
03
Section Titles: Increased weight and size to improve legibility but kept titles smaller upon request of the client.
04
Navigation Bar: Increased text size for improved legibility.
05
Body Text: Increase size and decreased text spacing to improve legibility.
06
Hero section: Changed background of hero section based on client feedback and preference.

Next Steps
After completing the design for Mid Valley Maid, the next steps would involve the development and launch of the website. This includes coding the design into a functional website, ensuring responsiveness across various devices, and testing the website for usability and performance. Once the website is ready, it can be launched and made live for users to access. Post-launch activities may include monitoring website analytics, gathering user feedback, and making any necessary updates or improvements to enhance the user experience and achieve business goals. Ongoing maintenance and updates to the website may also be necessary to keep it current and effective.
